Hackathons to improve SecureDrop in Boston and San Francisco

The Freedom of the Press Foundation will be holding simultaneous hackathons this weekend in Boston and San Francisco to help improve SecureDrop, a whistleblower submission system designed in part by the late Aaron Swartz.

SecureDrop was designed to provide journalists and media organizations with a relatively secure and surveillance-proof platform to receive documents from anonymous sources.

The Freedom of the Press Foundation is a not-for-profit organization “dedicated to helping support and defend public-interest journalism focused on exposing mismanagement, corruption, and law-breaking in government.” The hackathons will be held on Saturday, the 25th, and Sunday, the 26th. Details are available here.
